THE RULES
LOCK IN at University of Malta Freshers Week
Plain English, and short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to contact@a2co.com and we will answer.
1. Who is running this
The promoter is A2CO Advisory Ltd, Malta. Any question, complaint or request about the competition or your data goes to contact@a2co.com.
2. It is free, and it is a game of skill
Entry is free. There is nothing to buy, at any point.
LOCK IN is decided entirely by skill, not by chance. Your score depends only on how accurately and how quickly you stop the reels. Nothing in the game is random, no outcome is drawn, and no element of luck decides who wins.
3. Who can enter
- Students registered at the University of Malta.
- You must be able to receive email at the address you register with.
- Employees of A2CO Advisory Ltd, and their immediate families, may play for fun but cannot win a prize.
- One registration per person.
4. How to enter
- Register at a2coplay.com.
- We email you a six-digit play code. It is emailed and shown nowhere else, and it cannot be sent again, so keep that email.
- Bring the code to the a2co stand during Freshers Week and enter it on the machine.
- Everyone gets a practice run first. The next run is the one that counts.
Two scored runs for the whole week, and no more than one on any day.
5. The prizes
| 1st overall | €1,000 voucher |
| 2nd overall | Apple Watch |
| 3rd overall | €100 voucher |
| Each day | €50 voucher to that day's top score |
Every cash figure above is a retail voucher, not cash. Vouchers are issued by a retailer of our choosing and are subject to that retailer's own terms and expiry. There is no cash alternative, and prizes are not transferable. If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control we may substitute one of equal or greater value.
The three overall winners cannot also win a daily voucher. If the top score on a day belongs to one of them, that day's voucher passes to the next eligible player.
6. How the winners are decided
By highest score. Each player's best scored run counts. If two scores are identical, the quicker run wins; if those are identical too, whoever set it first wins.
Runs played on a practice go, or with any part of the machine's test controls, do not count.
7. Claiming a prize
- Winners are contacted on the email address they registered with.
- Prizes are collected in person from the a2co offices in the week or two after the event. Bring your student ID.
- We confirm with KSU that winners are registered students before any prize is handed over.
- If we cannot reach a winner, or they cannot be verified, within 14 days, the prize passes to the next eligible player.
8. Disqualification
Entries containing false or inaccurate information are disqualified at any stage, including after a prize has been announced. So is any attempt to interfere with the machine, the scoring, or another person's entry, or to register more than once.
9. Our decisions, and changes
The promoter's decision on scores, eligibility and prizes is final, and we do not enter into correspondence about it beyond explaining how a decision was reached.
We may amend these rules or cancel the competition if something outside our control makes it necessary. If we do, we will say so at a2coplay.com.
10. Your data
A2CO Advisory Ltd holds your details to run this competition and, only if you ticked the box, to send you email about opportunities.
Two different things, kept for two different lengths of time.
- Competition details. Your phone number, course, year, play code and scores. Kept for 24 months after you register, then deleted.
- The mailing list. Your name and email address, and only if you ticked the box. Held in Mailchimp and kept until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe with one click in any email we send, or by writing to contact@a2co.com. We keep a note of the fact that you consented, and of any unsubscribe, because we are required to be able to show it.
Mailchimp is our email provider and processes that data on our instructions. Ticking the box is entirely optional and you can play either way.
Your first name, last initial and faculty appear on a public leaderboard at our stand. If you win, we share your name and course with KSU to confirm you are a registered student. We share nothing else with anyone.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time, by writing to contact@a2co.com.
11. Law
These rules are governed by the laws of Malta.
